Why pay for a Health Coach?
I'm currently sitting in a garage waiting for my car to be fixed. It's not a big job, and YouTube gave me great instructions on how to do it, but it is a crucial part of the car. If I get it wrong, that's the car out of action, an expensive bill to put it right, and it's potentially dangerous to drive.
I've chosen to use the expertise of my mechanic. Yes, I have to pay him (a labourer is worth his due), but I benefit from someone who is skilled, who has been trained, and has worked on hundreds of cars, chalking up many thousands of hours of experience to fix my car.
YouTube made it look easy, but I have neither the training nor the experience to fall back on should something unexpected occur while doing it myself.
It made me think about why you would pay for a health coach. There are loads of resources online, YouTube videos, and ideas of how to improve your health. In theory, you could follow their instructions and improve your health for free.
Some people will do this and be incredibly successful alone. Others will try but ultimately not succeed long term. Others still won't get past the first hurdle.
It's not hard to see where this is going, is it? Your health is complex and multifactorial. Working with someone who has experience means you'll benefit from things you didn't know you didn't know. Years of training, listening, communicating complex research, and problem-solving are available to all our clients!
Why pay for a health coach? Arguably, your body is the most important machine you'll ever own, and when it goes wron,g it's even more costly than the car!
